How to Mobilize your Enterprise Apps

Comments ( 0 )

Enterprise software is a major part of what makes a business run.  Since the invention of the computer businesses have been utilizing technology to help perform anything from menial tasks to major aspects of the business.  Today we live in a fast paced world where laptop computers are being replaced by tablets and smartphones.  While increased mobility is a great tool for many companies they may have trouble mobilizing their apps at first.

Your first consideration is the size and scope of your intended market.  You do not want to make your app to small in scope.  If you are creating an enterprise app to perform one function, for example claims adjustments or completion of a sale, try to integrate more functions into that app.  In other words; why not integrate a way for your employees to schedule their appointments as well?

It is good to keep in mind that not all of your employees are going to be using these apps.  Some apps like social media and e-mail are an invaluable tool for almost every employee.  Beyond that you need to recognize that the employees that sit in front of a computer all day are not going to need the same enterprise applications as those who are out in the field.  The main point here is to understand the reach of your applications and how affective they will be for your workforce.

One of the many pros to developing an enterprise app with a broad range is that there is a higher adoption curve.  You have to keep in mind that you will be adding something new, maybe even a new technology, to your employees’ usually unvaried work day.  The easier that it is for your employees to accept your app into their daily operations the more successful it will be.

While wrapping your head around mobilizing your enterprise applications may be difficult it is important to remember the benefits.  It is up to you and your app developers to discover just how far those benefits can go.  You must ask yourself if mobilizing your enterprise app is completely changing your business plan and giving you a competitive advantage or if it is a transformation that improves the efficiency of your business and customer satisfaction.  Neither of these is better than the other as long as they are a step forward for your company.  The greater the benefit of your app the easier it will be for you to deploy.

The biggest issue companies run into when trying to mobilize their apps is that the technology can sometimes be invasive.  Luckily as technology progresses this is becoming less of a concern.  If you are lucky enough to work with a company that can deliver your app over multiple platforms these concerns are practically non-existent.

If you are thinking about mobilizing your applications now is the time.  Our entire culture is becoming more mobile and there is no doubt that it will never go back.  Allowing your employees to complete tasks on the go that they traditionally would have to perform in this office is a huge asset to your business.  On the GoWARE is willing to work with you to meet all of your goals to when it comes to mobilizing your enterprise app and bringing your company into a new era of business.
