Mobile application development is starting to become big business and big money. Given its relative youth there are still a lot of fresh and innovative ideas out there just waiting to be developed. Mobile apps are getting further away from a basement project and becoming big production projects. The problem with that is that small businesses and startup companies that are looking for mobile app development are having trouble financing their apps. However necessity is the mother of invention and there are multiple means popping up to aide in the funding of mobile apps.

The most secure and surefire way to gain capital for mobile app development is through a loan. Just like constructing a building an app takes an entire infrastructure which isn’t exactly cheap. In the past it has been more difficult to get a business loan to develop apps possibly due to the fact that apps have been thought of as nothing more than games up to this point. As apps become more widespread it is becoming easier to get a loan for app development.

If you are really lucky and you have an idea that falls into a certain category you may qualify for a mobile app development grant. The great thing about grants is that they are basically free money; the only problem is they are very selective and very few people qualify for grants. Grants for mobile app development usually cover a select few fields such as health, food and agriculture, and technology as well as other topics that may not fit into the theme of your app. Even if you believe that your app idea has what it takes to get a grant, grants can be incredibly strict and even stifle your creative process. Though this may sound slightly negative it is a reality, however it is still worth the effort to apply for a grant to help cover the costs of your mobile app development.

If you don’t believe that your app will be eligible for a grant and you feel a loan is too risky there are other options. You could consider partnering with an already established individual or company who already has capital and cultivated relationships. Often times if they have the means and you have the idea you will be able to strike a deal that will be amicable for both of you. This does not mean that you will not be required to come up with some good faith capital, but it will help ease the burden of payment.

Even after you have come up with the appropriate funds for your mobile app development there is still the detail of finding mobile app developers that can help to turn your dream into reality. Working with an experienced and professional team of mobile app developers can get the job done in a timely fashion. On the GoWARE takes this idea one step further by offering their AppSource Program. This program allows you a team to work on your app in all stages of its construction. This allows you to optimize your budget by only employing the team members that you need in that particular stage. You are also capable of adjusting your budget by the timeline of the completion of your app. The AppSource program is a unique program with few to no competitors. It offers a way for those on a mobile app development budget to use their funds wisely and produce the best app possible.

Imagine being able to loan money to a friend, split a bill, or pay a vendor, all while never having to pull out your wallet. All of this and more is actually possible now with the invention of Bump Pay. Bump Pay has been around for a few years but it is beginning to gain steam as people realize its convenience and uses. By simply entering in an amount of your payment and bumping two phones together you will automatically pull up a PayPal conformation page to transfer the money. While it sounds great to be able to pay your buddy the bet you lost by bumping phones there are more important functions that bump pay can provide.

Bump pay provides a unique service that may not fit into some business models, but can be an invaluable business mobile app to some others. While it may not be as handy for larger businesses like Square or PayPal Here card readers Bump Pay can be infinitely more helpful to salespeople and sole proprietors. Imagine being able to pay a technician that has just fixed your furnace by bumping your device to his. There would be no awkward waiting and no worry about the safety of your credit card information. It would also be a hassle free way for make-up consultants, personal trainers, and any other in home sales businesses to handle payments safely and easily.

It could be argued that card readers are not that inconvenient, but the extra hardware is small and can easily be lost. No extra hardware means that there is nothing to be to be lost or broken on the way to collect the money. An important note is the fact the mobile app development has created a way for users to transfer funds without exchanging any information or currency. This is just one more way that mobile app development is changing the landscape of business. The wireless, paper less, and card less way to transfer funds makes transactions quicker and easier which could mean more dollars for businesses.

One of the biggest worries that people have over Bump Pay is safety. The fact of the matter is that using mobile apps are just as safe if not safer than using your credit card in a department store. Mobile app development has come a long way in a short time and there are a lot of safety nets in place to protect business mobile app users. This gives businesses of any size the ability to ensure their clients privacy and protection.

The era of the check book is gone and it looks like credit cards are not far behind them. The emergence of business mobile apps like Bump Pay is turning our smartphones into a one stop shop for all of our daily needs. There is no longer an argument over the importance of mobile app development in our daily lives. Before long our smartphone will be our wallet, keys, phone, watch, and so much more. While this makes the lives of consumers much easier, it also spells dollars and sense to businesses everywhere.

When people think of programmers their first thought is probably a geek with glasses sitting behind a computer screen writing code for 8 hours a day. The truth is there is a lot more to programming than just a little bit of coding, that and not all programmers are geeks. Not all coding is the same from platform to platform and some programmers can fall short when it comes to understanding multiple platforms. Application development is big business and there are a lot of unqualified people trying to get in on the craze. To avoid hiring a programmer that isn’t up to the task of developing your mobile enterprise app you should know what to look for in an app programmer.

Obviously a key trait in a programmer is experience. Experienced programmers may charge a little more than some of their competitors, but they are more than worth it. The fact is that an experienced programmer will get you your app in half the time with twice the quality of app programmers who are still a little wet behind the ears. Experience doesn’t just count for programming as a whole either. The programmer that you choose should be experienced with the type of app that you are developing as well.

It is not always the case, but with experience should come a certain amount of skill. All the experience in the world cannot beat natural skill and intuition when it comes to programming. A good programmer should be skilled in all aspects of coding from the base to the finished product.

A good programmer should be easy to get ahold of. Though this is true of most professionals, an app programmer should be available at a moment’s notice. Ideas change and a good programmer should be there to change them as they come in. In an age of technology physical location does not matter. Options like Skype allow you to have face to face meetings with your programmer anywhere in the world.

While they carry a big part of the workload in app development, programmers are not the only contributors to the process. They should be able to work with other members of the development team to produce a finish product that both you and your team are proud of. Though there is a common misconception that coders spend long hours in dark rooms alone, this is not the kind of person that you want working on your enterprise app.

With apps being one of the most in demand forms of technology today there is an overabundance of programmers on the market. It is important to understand what to look for in a programmer if you want your application to succeed. If you think that sifting through a list of seemingly qualified programmers for your next program doesn’t sound very productive, there is another route that you can go. On the GoWARE has an excellent recruitment and placement program to help match your next project with the perfect programmer. They have years of experience working with programmers the three major platforms and has a pool of programmers that meet and exceed all of the requirements to be a good programmer. If you are looking for a mobile application programmer do not hesitate to contact On the GoWARE today.

If your company has decided to create a mobile enterprise app to help with business tasks you probably want it to be live in the app market as soon as possible. It can take 6 months to a year from the time an app idea is born to its completion. This may seem like a long time, but not when you think about the amount of work that goes into creating an app. You can’t force an app to be developed in a week, but there are ways to streamline the process.

It may help to scale down your dreams. You should have a dream of everything that you want your app to be, but realize that it may not all be able to go into version 1.0 of your app. Think of what the bare minimum would be to make your app work. You can always add more features in future versions of the app. Your app developer will be more likely to get more done if they are not overwhelmed.

It may help to draw up and overview of what you want your app to accomplish. Again you do not need to go into great detail, but give your developer a general idea of what you would like out of your app. The more your developer understands the easier it will be to communicate with them and the faster your app can be completed.

Try to write a detailed click by click walkthrough of what you imagine your app will look like. Describe how you see the interface and everything that you can select from the main page. A list of clear and concise actions for your development team will help them conjure a better vision of the final product.

Make this a standalone project. If you want to streamline your project don’t give your developer three projects to complete at the same time. This will accomplish nothing but slowing down your projected and reducing the quality of your final projects.

Find a developer that you like and stick with them. Creating a long term relationship with an app developer has a handful of advantages. A long term relationship creates trust between you and your developer. Your developer knows that you will come to them for all of your mobile app development needs and you know that they will consistently develop high quality apps for you. Working long term with a developer will also help to streamline your app because they will know you and your needs and have a complete understanding of your enterprise app history.

Mobile applications have become an indispensable part of our daily business and personal lives. When you are using a mobile enterprise application to move your business forward time is of the essence. By employing ways to streamline your enterprise app you will be able to cut down on the time between idea and finished product. Teaming with a company like On the GoWARE with years of experience and a stable of professionals is a great way to get started with streamlining your mobile enterprise app.

If five years ago you would have told someone that the beginning of March would mark the 25th billion download from Apple’s App Store they probably would have looked at you like you were crazy. The fact is that it is somewhat astounding that app technology has become so popular in such a short time. What started off as mostly a novelty has quickly become the future in both consumer and business markets. The lucky downloader of the 25th billion app is going has won a $10,000 iTunes gift card, but the implications of 25 billion go far beyond a gift card.

In some ways it is not that shocking given the popularity of Apple products. The iPad and iPhone make up more than a third of all such mobile devices and represent an even larger share of overall mobile revenue. Since the conception of the App Store Apple has been increasing the number of app downloads annually. If current trends continue Apple is set to reach 15 billion downloads this year alone sky rocketing the total number of downloads to 40 billion.

Apple is not the only one who is making moves in the app arena. Google’s Android App Market only covers around 5 percent of total app revenue, but they have been making strides to catch up with their biggest competitor. In December of 2011 the Android App Market reached 10 billion downloads. While 10 billion is an impressive number it does not hold a candle to Apple’s projected numbers. Since their December milestone the Android App Market has been growing at a rate of 1 billion downloads per month.

All of these downloads come with a lot more than just bragging rights. There is some serious money to be made in mobile applications. Apple is leading the way when it comes to app revenue but is surprisingly not that far ahead of Google. While the base price of apps makes up a significant portion of revenues, developers are turning to in app purchases to really bring in the cash.

The fact of the matter is that mobile applications for all devices are growing exponentially. Windows is projected to be making some big steps into the mobile market soon and RIM is still notable in the app arena, especially when it comes to mobile enterprise applications. Still Apple and Google are leading the race and the battle between these two only means big things for consumers. Heavy competition will drive down prices for consumers and increase the convenience of mobile enterprise management.

One of the biggest booms in the app industry and possibly one of the reasons that app downloads and revenues continue to increase is the emergence of mobile enterprise applications. Every day companies are finding the benefits of mobile enterprise applications in their overall business strategy. While some platforms have been slower than others when it comes to enterprise applications there is no denying that they are becoming the 21st century business tool.

Since man decided to rub two sticks together humans have been searching for ways to make their lives easier through technology. As technology grows there is a race to provide quality hardware at an affordable price. Often times when a device is offered at a deeply discounted price there is a reason why. However, as the race gets tighter companies are starting to offer decent mobile devices at a reasonable price to stay competitive in the market. One company in particular is making big waves with the recent announcement that they will be offering an Android powered device at just $35.

Despite what some may say these new tablets have some big potential. The biggest potential beneficiaries of these new budget tablets are small businesses and startups. Instead of having to spend thousands upon thousands of dollars for computers these small business will be able to spend under a thousand to not only give all employees tablets, but also make their workforce mobile in the same action. The fact that these tablets will be affordable for any budget and run Android Ice Cream Sandwich spells good news for the future of business mobile apps. The only real downside to the Aakash 2 tablet is that the hardware is not state of the art and it could be considered slower than other tablets, but when weighed against the price of other apps it is easy to see that it is still a viable tablet in today’s market.

Business mobile apps are becoming an invaluable tool for businesses big and small and there is still a lot of mobile app development that can be done inside the enterprise app arena. An increased ability to acquire budget friendly tablets will lead to an increased need for small business apps. These apps can be anywhere from enterprise apps to advertising apps and everything in between. While the hardware may be cheap some small businesses may question how expensive mobile app development really is.

When you compare the price and return to other small business costs business mobile apps are a one of the most valuable business startup tools. While things like employees, rent, and an online presence are invaluable components to your business a small business app can help to take your business to the next level. A physical location offers storage and a little traffic, but they are dying fast in an increasingly mobile world. Business mobile apps can put your company’s brand in the hands of consumers and can help your employees to be more productive. A website can drive traffic and be a way for consumers to not only find your business but purchase products and services as well, but they can be ridiculously expensive to create and maintain.

These new tablets represent more than just a way for consumers and businesses to get their hands on budget friendly hardware. They represent an affordable way for businesses to arm their employees with tools to succeed in a rapidly expanding mobile business environment. When you combine and inexpensive tablet with invaluable small business apps you create a blueprint for success in today’s market.

When an industry has been around as long as the restaurant industry it is due for a few changes now and again. The thing about the restaurant industry is that very little has changed between the 1950’s diner and today’s bustling corporate restaurants. Now that every server has a smartphone in their pocket, and restaurants across the country are starting to put devices on their tables, the restaurant industry is starting to get a much needed boost.

Imagine your server being able to pull out a mobile device and take your order, instantly sending it back to the kitchen. What used to be a science fiction dream may become a reality sooner than we think. On the busiest of nights servers will be able to send back corrections without having to run back to the kitchen, or they may be able to send a quick text to another server asking for assistance making them more efficient. They would also be able to pull up information regarding food allergies and other non-menu related questions. At the end of the meal servers could be able to run and process a credit card payment right from the table increase the convenience for both server and guest. Mobile application development is laying the ground work to make all of this and more possible. Though this scenario isn’t a reality quite yet mobile applications are already making an impact on the restaurant industry.

Some restaurants have already begun to employ applications on devices at their tables. These devices allow people to play games, watch videos, read the newspaper, and more. They can even sign up for rewards programs right from their table. Some devices even allow customers to pay right at the table so they don’t have to wait for their busy server. These corporate apps are a win-win for everyone involved. Restaurants that employ these devices and apps get more business and advertising and patrons have something to do while they wait.

Corporate mobile apps have gone beyond the restaurant as well. Many restaurants have already employed mobile app development to create apps for their company. These apps can offer special deals, directions, menus, and more. In some situations, pizza restaurants for example, customers can actually place their order for delivery or pick up right from their mobile device.

Something that may not occur to some is the fact that all of these apps are helping consumers and restaurants go paperless, in turn helping the environment. Most companies will now take coupons right from the consumers’ mobile device eliminating the need to print coupons. Using a mobile device eliminates the need for servers to waste paper when righting down orders. Even the possibility of customers being able to pay on a mobile device eliminates paper use.

While some of these ideas have begun to be implemented there is still a lot of room for corporate mobile apps in the restaurant industry. Mobile app development has aided in the evolution of many industries already and the restaurant industry should not be any different. With a little bit of imagination and the right mobile app developers it will be interesting to see how mobile apps will change the restaurant industry forever.

In a few short years apps have proven themselves to be better tools than they are toys. Mobile app developers quickly caught on to this and have been developing priceless apps for almost every industry. One industry in particular that has greatly benefited from this boom in mobile app development is the medical industry. Apps that help doctors have made a huge difference in patient care from the lab to the bedside. Since these apps can directly affect patient care they have an extra obstacle in FDA approval.

The FDA is not trying to be bad guys in this situation, they just want to be sure that all medical apps are in the patient’s best interest. The FDA even states, “The FDA encourages further development of mobile medical apps that improve health care and provide consumers and health care professionals with valuable health information very quickly.” However they also go on to say, “The FDA has a public health responsibility to oversee the safety and effectiveness of a small subset of mobile medical applications that present a potential risk to patients if they do not work as intended.”

It is understandable that the FDA may want to regulate certain mobile apps that may be harmful or misleading. There are already a handful of approved mobile apps on the market that are making a big splash. On the consumer end you can find apps that will help to determine symptoms of common illnesses and often suggest treatment or medical attention. While consumer based apps are great they are not what mobile app developers and the FDA are currently concerned about.

New applications are changing the internal workings of clinics everywhere. Applications like Mobile MIM, which is FDA approved, is changing the way that doctors look at results. Doctors can know receive images from X-rays, CT scans, Ultrasounds, MRIs, and more from anywhere in the hospital, not to mention the world. There are also a few different apps on the market that show beautiful displays of the human body. These apps have two important functions one being a great study tool for doctors to remain fresh on their anatomy, the other is being able to show patients in a realistic fashion where their affliction lies. A fairly new and very innovative app on the market that has recently received FDA approval is the AirStrip Cardiology app. Much like Mobile MIM doctors are able to wirelessly view ECG results and access historical data allowing cardiologist to make informed and timely decisions.

All of these apps offer doctors more time to spend at patient’s bedsides and on patient treatment. This gives doctor’s more of a chance to get to know their patient and offer the best possible treatment. While FDA intervention in the mobile app development process may be frustrating to mobile app developers it is for the safety of doctors and patients alike. The FDA encourages feedback from mobile app developers and healthcare providers alike to work closely for a balance between medical mobile app development and safety.

Mobile technology has had an astounding effect on how companies run their business. From internal workings to the way they advertise, mobile business applications have changed the landscape of business in the 21st century. One of many ways that mobile technology is changing the face of business is the institution of credit card processing apps. These apps are innovative and truly special in a way because they are accessible to any business from startups to fortune 500 companies. Apps are no different than any innovative technology and the market is usually flooded as soon a good idea is implemented. With a handful of credit card processing apps on the market already you should probably be thinking about the best way to accept credit cards on an iPhone or Android powered phone.

When everything is taken into account Square takes top prize for credit card processing apps on mobile devices. Square is highly rated in the mobile business app world because of its ease of use. Square has a major advantage over its competitors in the fact that customers do not need any kind of account to use it. As long as consumers have a valid credit card you can just slide their card through the Square Dongle that attaches to your device and go on your way. Square offers benefits that competitors have not been able to match yet like text and email receipts, charitable donations with every transaction, and rewards program management.

Squares closest competitor in credit card processing apps is PayPal. It is not surprising that the company that has changed the way people pay online would eventually change the way we pay with our mobile devices. Though it is designed differently PayPal Here offers a free card reader which plugs into your mobile device. PayPal Here offers many unique features including the ability to take checks as well as all major cards. It also offers a convenient way to track cash payments. One of PayPal Here’s greatest advantages is having the safety and experience of PayPal’s over a decade of banking online.

There are a handful of other credit card processing apps on the market, but none of the stack up to Square or PayPal here. PayPal Here and Square charge a slightly higher percentage fee per transaction, but there is a good reason for this. Unlike these front runners, other apps charge a monthly service fee that can sometimes be pretty steep. This makes it difficult for small businesses and startups to maintain the use of these card processing apps. There are also a myriad of other fees that other credit card processing apps charge that Square and PayPal Here stay away from.

The amount of credit card processing apps on the market is a testament to how important our mobile devices and mobile business apps have become. Given their simplicity and mobility it would not be surprising if these mobile payment stations will replace the traditional card processors that most businesses use today. This technology has come just in time for the growing wants and needs of consumers and businesses in a rapidly changing mobile landscape.

Many companies have started to embrace mobile technology in their workplace. Mobile enterprise applications have become an important part of daily business operations. Depending on your company’s mobile device management policy you may be issued a company phone or be able to use your own device with some restrictions. Finding a smartphone with great features may be difficult for those companies who choose to go the route of bring your own device, but there are many smartphones on the market with important features for enterprise mobility.

Though it may not seem like a very big deal, the design of your smartphone can make a huge difference in the way it affects your apps. If your smartphone is too large it will affect its portability. Depending on the type of work you will be performing a QWERTY keyboard could help or hinder your work. Even something as small as button placement could be something that affects the way your phone completes work related tasks.

It may seem contradictory to keeping your mobile device small, but in most cases larger displays are better. In an era of smartphones the iPhone has one of the smallest screens at 3.5 inches, which some may view as too small. The average smartphone screen is 4.3 inches and is arguably the best size for enterprise mobility. It is not just the size of the screen, but the quality as well. A large screen is not worth anything if the retina display is not high quality.

Running the latest versions of operating systems is a critical feature in mobile enterprise. Without the latest operating system the smartphones may not be able to perform their duties if they are running old operating systems. Running an outdated operating system can also leave your employees and your company at risk of security breaches.

As the QWERTY keyboard begins to be phased out screen responsiveness has become an important part of the smartphone experience. If your phone is not responding or responding in the wrong ways it can seriously affect the way your work is being done. Most screens today are very responsive, but it is still good to be cautious when purchasing a smartphone.

Whether it is companies or employees who are buying smartphones the price is important. Though the price of smartphones is quickly falling, there are still a wide range of prices for the devices. More expensive is not always better especially with smartphones; make sure that the smartphone you want to purchase has other key features that you are looking for.

When it comes to important mobile enterprise functions ample storage is a must. Multiple enterprise apps can take up space on a smartphone. Not only does this leave less room for other business and personal uses, but it also has the potential to slow down your device.

Whether you are instituting a bring your own device strategy or issuing devices to your employees you may find it difficult to find all of these features in a single phone. It is the job of your company and your employees to purchase a device that is the most compatible with your enterprise applications. New devices are hitting the market every day and companies are always improving on the devices that are on the market. This is good news for those out there still searching for the perfect smartphone for enterprise mobility.
